The Ball Engineer III Chronometer is a old timer that packs a punch.
One highlighted feature of the watch is its resistance to magnatim to an advertised 1000 Gauss. The watch achieves the magnatim resistsace through a soft iron core rather than the more modern choice of utilising a nivachron hairspring.

On a personal note, I remmeber craving this watch for its aquatic blue dial to fit in poolside in summer vacations, only after finding out that the colour variation is actually called ‘Ice Blue’. That being said I think there is a case for this being a slightly playful one watch collection.
The watch embodies what an engineer would need, but elevated. It’s the tool watch with the shiny finish for the engineer who moved up in the pecking order, but still gets hands on every so often.
